The Golden Mile is the stretch of coast between the western edge of Marbella’s old town and Puerto Ban\u00fas, about six kilometres along the Bulevar Pr\u00edncipe Alfonso von Hohenlohe, with the beach on one side and the foothills of La Concha on the other. It got its name from the hotels and villas built along it after the Marbella Club opened in 1954, and the name has stuck to both sides of the road: the beachfront estates and the hillside urbanisations above them are all “Golden Mile” to an estate agent.<\/p>\n

De weg verdeelt de Golden Mile in twee markten. Aan het strand, ten zuiden van de bulevar, bevinden zich de hotels en de lage complexen die tot aan zee lopen: de Marbella Club en Puente Romano met hun residences, Marina Puente Romano, Las Ca\u00f1as Beach, Se\u00f1or\u00edo de Marbella, Coral Beach, Santa Petronila, Oasis Club, Alhambra del Mar, Marbella Real en, richting Ban\u00fas, Las Alamedas. Dit zijn vooral appartementen, penthouses en townhouses, en de prijs van een woning hier wordt bepaald door hoeveel meter deze van het zand af ligt.<\/p>\n
Hill side, north of the road, the land climbs quickly through Nag\u00fceles, Roc\u00edo de Nag\u00fceles, Altos Reales, Lomas del Rey, La Carolina and the Marbella Hill Club to Cascada de Camoj\u00e1n and, at the top, Sierra Blanca and Las Lomas del Marbella Club. These are villa estates, most of them gated, with sea views and plots from 1,000 to over 5,000 m\u00b2. Between the two, the King Fahd mosque and the Al Riyadh estate mark where the Golden Mile meets the Saudi royal family’s compound.<\/p>\n
Marbella’s average asking price in 2026 is around 6,075 euros per square metre; on the Golden Mile it is close to 7,000, and verified sale prices across the municipality sit well below asking, nearer 3,400 per square metre according to Tinsa, so the listed figure is a starting point rather than a verdict. In practice the market works in bands: beachfront apartments in the hotel residences and the front line estates from about 1.5 million euros for a two bedroom to 10 million and more for the best penthouses; hillside villas from about 3 million in Nag\u00fceles to 10 to 20 million in Sierra Blanca, Cascada de Camoj\u00e1n and Las Lomas del Marbella Club, with a handful of houses above that. The Marbella Club, opened in 1954, and Puente Romano, opened in 1979, are the two hotels that made the Golden Mile and still anchor it, with Nobu, Dani Garc\u00eda’s restaurants and the Puente Romano tennis club between them; the Gran Meli\u00e1 Don Pepe marks the Marbella end. The beach clubs run along the sand: MC Beach at the Marbella Club and Sea Grill and Nobu Beachside at Puente Romano among them. The Senda Litoral promenade runs the full length of the Golden Mile and links the old town to Puerto Ban\u00fas on foot, about an hour’s walk at an easy pace. De New Golden Mile is het kustgedeelte ten westen van San Pedro en Guadalmina richting Estepona, genoemd door ontwikkelaars in de jaren 2000 om prestige te lenen. Het is een andere markt: nieuwer, goedkoper, met meer appartementen en nieuwbouw, en het behoort grotendeels tot Estepona. Een kosmopolitische mix van uiterst vermogende kopers uit heel Europa, het Midden-Oosten en steeds vaker uit de VS en Latijns-Amerika.
