About Savia

Mijas

SAVIA is a residential development of 3 and 4 bedroom townhouses with private gardens and equipped kitchens in Mijas, on the Costa del Sol. Works are officially under way.

The project is planned around a balance between architecture and nature: a low-density community where landscaped shared space sits between the homes rather than around them. The townhouses are conceived as family homes, each with its own garden.

The communal areas include swimming pools with a chill-out zone, a coworking area for working from home, a fully equipped gym and a social club where residents can spend time with family, friends and neighbours.

Savia faces a large Mediterranean pine forest, less than 10 minutes from the beaches and about 20 minutes from Malaga airport. Some 800 metres away, the new Gran Parque de la Costa del Sol is under development, a large green park with gardens and leisure areas.

The official Phase 1 payment terms place the public title deed and key handover in the third quarter of 2028.

Savia's everyday luxury is the forest in front: waking up facing a dense Mediterranean pine wood, with the beaches of Mijas below and the city within easy reach, is a combination this coast rarely offers in a townhouse format.

The official Phase 1 payment structure is: 6,000 EUR + VAT (6,600 EUR) on reservation; 20% + VAT of the selling price, less the reservation, on signing the private purchase contract; a further 15% + VAT deferred after the contract signing; and the remaining 65% + VAT on completion, at title deed and key handover.

Mijas

Mijas stretches from a whitewashed hilltop village at 430 metres above sea level down to a busy coastal strip that runs for twelve kilometres along the Mediterranean. It is two places in one. Up top, Mijas Pueblo is one of Andalucía's best-preserved pueblo blancos, with narrow lanes, a bullring carved into the rock, and views that reach Africa on a clear day. Below, Mijas Costa is a chain of established residential communities, golf courses, and long sandy beaches connected by the Senda Litoral coastal path. The municipality's population has more than doubled since 2011, reaching 95,104 as of January 2025 and an estimated 97,042 by March that year - among the fastest-growing on the Costa del Sol, with a year-round population that is genuinely international.

Mijas Pueblo: An Oval Bullring and Donkey Taxis
Mijas Pueblo's bullring, built in 1900 at the request of local residents, is unusual for its oval rather than circular shape - reportedly unique in Spain - and its walls carry ceramic tributes to the matadors who have fought there, including Paquirri. Just as distinctive is the village's donkey-taxi tradition: it began in the 1960s when local workers using donkeys to get home were asked by visitors for lifts up the hills in exchange for a tip, and the "burro taxi" has since become one of Andalucía's best-known tourist symbols. The village has a strong artistic community, good local restaurants, and a microclimate that is noticeably cooler in summer than the coast below.

The coast from Cala de Mijas through Calahonda to Riviera del Sol offers some of the best value on the western Costa del Sol. Property prices sit below Marbella and Estepona - the municipality averages around €3,865/m² as of 2026, ranging from roughly €2,980/m² in Campo de Mijas up to €4,483/m² in the Calaburra-Chaparral corridor - but the infrastructure is mature: supermarkets, medical centres, international schools, and half a dozen golf courses are all within a short drive. The AP-7 motorway gives fast access to Málaga airport in around 25 minutes and to Marbella in 15.

Golf: La Cala Resort's Three Courses
La Cala Resort, in the foothills of the Sierra de Mijas, opened its first course - Campo Asia (formerly the South Course, the most historic and challenging of the three) - in 1990, followed by Campo America (formerly North) in the mid-1990s and Campo Europa, the widest and most forgiving of the three, in 2005. All three were designed by Cabell B. Robinson. Alongside La Cala, Santana Golf & Country Club (18 holes, opened 2003, also a Robinson design, in the heart of the Mijas Golf Valley), Miraflores Golf, Calanova Golf and El Chaparral Golf Club give the municipality eight courses in total within easy reach of most neighbourhoods.

What ties it all together is the outdoor lifestyle. The Senda Litoral connects the coastal communities on foot or by bike. The beaches are wide, sandy, and far less crowded than those closer to Marbella. For families, retirees, and remote workers looking for quality of life at a sensible price, Mijas delivers on every measure.
