Estepona Golf is the name used for the hillside area around the Estepona Golf course, a short drive inland from Estepona town on the AP-7 corridor. It is not a single master-planned development with one name, one developer or one design theme — it is a general urbanización label covering a mix of separate, independently built projects: individual villa plots, small villa developments such as Aurea Villas, and newer complexes such as Azata Golf Villas, built at different times by different developers around and near the golf course itself.
The area sits on rising ground above the coast, with views over the Mediterranean and toward the Sierra Bermeja. It is purely residential, with no bars, shops or nightlife of its own — daily errands, restaurants and the beach mean a short drive down to Estepona town or along the coast. Atalaya Golf & Country Club and several other Costa del Sol courses are within a few minutes' drive, and Selwo Aventura safari park is also nearby, which is one of the reasons the area appeals to families as well as golfers.
Property here ranges from older individual villas on larger plots to more recent townhouse and villa developments, reflecting the area's gradual, piecemeal growth rather than a single build-out. Because it is a car-dependent hillside area rather than a walkable town centre, it suits buyers who want space, privacy and golf access over proximity to street life.
Estepona Golf in 2026
Estepona Golf is where most of Estepona's new apartment supply is being built. At the time of writing (October 2026) we list eight projects on or around the course on our Estepona new developments page: Eagle Hills and Birdie Hills, apartments from about 320,000 and 325,000 euros with the developer giving 2029; Aby Middle from about 330,000; Sunny Golf from about 370,000; Attire, town houses and semi detached from about 606,000; Idyllic, apartments and penthouses from about 753,000; Apron, semi detached houses from about 834,000 to 1.6 million; and Aurea Villas, six villas from 1.5 to 1.75 million. Resales are thinner: a two bedroom ground floor apartment at about 495,000 and a four bedroom semi detached villa in Azata Golf at about 860,000, on our Estepona property page. The course itself is 18 holes, par 71, about 50 euros a round and rated 3.9 on Google, which puts it in the beginners and families list in our golf courses guide, with Valle Romano, Atalaya and El Paraíso all within 10 minutes. The nearest beaches, Arroyo Vaquero and Bahía Dorada, have no services and tiny car parks, as our Estepona beaches guide explains. Yes. It is a short, hilly par 71 with sea views and green fees around 50 euros, one of the cheapest rounds between Marbella and Sotogrande, and it takes bookings online. Serious golfers tend to play Valle Romano, Atalaya or El Paraíso nearby and use Estepona Golf as the practice course.
