What is Marina de Casares?
Marina de Casares is the name given to a residential stretch of coastline in the Casares municipality, sitting on the strip between Estepona and the Sotogrande/San Roque area, close to Casares Costa and Sabinillas. It is not a single branded resort or master-planned estate with its own amenities — the name functions more like a neighbourhood or urbanización label applied to a length of beachfront and near-beachfront housing that has been built up gradually rather than delivered in one coordinated scheme. There is no marina, port, or boat-mooring facility at this location; despite the name, it does not refer to a literal harbour.
Housing in the area is a mix of low-rise apartment blocks and townhouses, much of it newer construction aimed at the second-home and holiday-rental market that has grown along this part of the coast in recent years. Taylor Wimpey has built in the wider Casares Costa area under its own project name, Solemar, near Casares Beach and Arroyo Parrilla Park — separate branding from "Marina de Casares," and it is not confirmed that this or any other single developer built out the whole area under that name. Buyers looking here are typically drawn by direct beach access and the coast road location rather than by any resort-style facilities on site.
Life in Marina de Casares centres on the beach and the N-340/AP-7 corridor that links it to Estepona in one direction and Sotogrande, San Roque and the Gibraltar border in the other. It suits owners who want a low-key coastal base rather than the golf-and-clubhouse lifestyle found further along the coast at Sotogrande or Finca Cortesín, with day-to-day shopping and services concentrated in nearby Estepona or Sabinillas.
Marina de Casares in 2026
The honest position on stock: we do not have a resale tagged to Marina de Casares on the day of writing, so what we can show you here is on our Casares property page, where the beachfront homes of the Casares coast appear as they come in. New build on the same stretch of coast is where the choice is. Listed under Casares without a sub area we have Alcazaba Lagoon IV from about 615,000 euros and The Place by Alcazaba from about 629,000 at the Alcazaba Lagoon on Casares Costa, Azata Delmare from about 469,000 and Bliss Homes from about 395,000, with everything on our Casares and Manilva new developments page. The two things changing around here are a few minutes away. At Finca Cortesín, Spain's first Lanserhof clinic is due in 2027 and the St. Regis Residences are selling, in our Finca Cortesín post, and at the Manilva end new build now asks Estepona prices while resale still trades about 39 percent below, in our Manilva post. The nearest dog beach, Piedra Paloma on the Estepona and Casares line, is in our dog beaches post. The neighbours have their own guides: Bahía de Casares next door, Doña Julia and Casares Golf on the hill, La Duquesa and Chullera towards Manilva and Finca Cortesín inland, with the municipality in our Casares guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Marina de Casares?
Marina de Casares is the name used for a stretch of residential coastline in the Casares municipality, between Estepona and Sotogrande. It is not a single branded development or resort, and there is no marina or boat-mooring facility on site despite the name — it functions as a general area/urbanización name for beachfront and near-beachfront housing built up over time.
Who built Marina de Casares?
There is no single developer behind the whole area. Taylor Wimpey has a project in the wider Casares Costa area, Solemar, near Casares Beach and Arroyo Parrilla Park, but this is separately branded and the area as a whole has been built out by different builders rather than delivered as one coordinated scheme.
Is Marina de Casares a good place to invest in a rental property?
The area's appeal for renters comes from direct beach access and the coast road location between Estepona and Sotogrande. As with any Costa del Sol property, rental performance depends on the specific building, proximity to the beach, and management — we don't have published yield data specific to this area and would recommend checking comparable listings before making assumptions about returns.
How far is Marina de Casares from the airport?
Málaga Airport (AGP) is approx. 95 km via the AP-7. Gibraltar Airport is approx. 30 km away.
Do you need a car in Marina de Casares?
Yes. It sits on the coast road (N-340/AP-7) with no rail link, and the nearest supermarkets are in Estepona or Sabinillas (Manilva).
Is Marina de Casares the same as Casares Costa?
Marina de Casares is one urbanisation within Casares Costa, the strip of coast that belongs to Casares municipality between Estepona and Manilva. Casares Costa also includes Bahía de Casares, the Alcazaba Lagoon and the homes around Doña Julia golf. The village of Casares itself is 15 minutes inland.
What new developments are near Marina de Casares?
On the Casares coast we list Alcazaba Lagoon IV and The Place by Alcazaba at the lagoon, from about 615,000 and 629,000 euros, Azata Delmare from about 469,000 and Bliss Homes from about 395,000. Inside Finca Cortesín, five minutes inland, Amenabar Cortesín starts at about 575,000 and the St. Regis Residences at about 2.9 million.
Where is the nearest dog beach to Marina de Casares?
Playa Canina Piedra Paloma, on the boundary between Estepona and Casares Costa, a few minutes along the coast road, with a dog shower on site. It is one of four dog beaches between Manilva and Marbella and is open all year, including the summer bathing season when dogs are banned from the other beaches.
