What is Chullera?
Chullera is one of the last unspoiled stretches of coastline on the western Costa del Sol, tucked between Manilva’s La Duquesa port and the prestigious Sotogrande estate in Cádiz province. Unlike the more developed areas to the east, Chullera retains a peaceful, almost rural character — low-density urbanizations set among natural scrubland, with direct access to some of the region’s cleanest and least crowded beaches.
The area’s appeal lies in its duality: the tranquility of a virgin coastline with the convenience of being just five minutes from Puerto de Sotogrande and ten minutes from La Duquesa marina. Playa de la Chullera and Playa Punta Chullera offer crystal-clear waters, rock pools and sandy coves that attract snorkellers, kayakers and families seeking an authentic Mediterranean beach experience.
For buyers, Chullera represents an increasingly rare opportunity — beachfront or near-beach living at prices significantly below the Marbella Golden Mile, with the upside of proximity to Sotogrande’s world-class golf, polo and marina facilities. New developments like La Paloma 10 and Bahía de las Rocas are attracting international buyers who value privacy, nature and long-term capital appreciation.
La Chullera in 2026
La Chullera is five minutes from the Sotogrande marina, which was ranked the fifth largest marina in Spain this year, and 28 minutes from Gibraltar, which since the July 2026 treaty removed the land border is an ordinary commute, as our post explains. On the Manilva side, our Manilva post sets out the beachfront case with prices from our own feed, and the nearest new project, Vesta Mare at Castillo de la Duquesa, 36 apartments from about 435,000 euros, is on our Casares and Manilva new developments page. What we have for sale is on our Manilva property page. The neighbours, La Duquesa, Torreguadiaro and La Alcaidesa, have their own guides.

Is La Chullera in Manilva or Casares?
Manilva. La Chullera is the last stretch of Manilva municipality, in Málaga province, before the Cádiz border and Sotogrande; we file it with Casares and Manilva because the two share this coast. Council services, taxes and the town hall are Manilva's.
What is Punta Chullera?
The headland at the western end of the beach, where the coast turns towards Sotogrande, and the name of the low density urbanisation and the beach beside it, Playa Punta Chullera. It is the quietest piece of coast between La Duquesa and the marina.
What property is for sale in La Chullera?
Low density apartments and villas among the scrubland above the beach, with slow turnover. We list here occasionally; the nearest new project is Vesta Mare at Castillo de la Duquesa, a few minutes east. Ask us what is available.
