Finca Cortesín is not simply a resort: it is one of Europe’s most exclusive private estates. Spread across 215 hectares of protected Andalusian countryside, 150 of which is designated green belt, the development was conceived as a self-contained world of five-star hospitality, championship golf and ultra-private residential living. Since opening in 2009, it has attracted a discreet international clientele that includes business leaders, sports personalities and old-money European families who prize privacy above all else.
The centrepiece is the award-winning Finca Cortesín Hotel, Golf & Spa, with 67 suites featuring four-metre ceilings and a 2,200 m² spa that includes Spain’s only snow cave. The Cabell Robinson-designed championship golf course, an 18-hole, par-72 layout of over 7,000 yards, hosted the Volvo World Match Play Championship (2009, 2011, 2012) and the 2023 Solheim Cup, the first time the event was held in Spain. The Jack Nicklaus Academy operates on-site.
Residential life at Finca Cortesín is built on low density and total discretion. La Reserva offers 16 south-facing luxury villas with 24-hour concierge. Green 10 delivers 16 contemporary villas between the 9th and 10th fairways. Marea by Missoni provides branded-residence apartments. Prices start at around €1.6 million and exceed €8 million for the finest standalone villas.
Finca Cortesín in 2026
The resort is in the middle of its biggest expansion since it opened, which we set out in our Finca Cortesín post. Spain's first Lanserhof clinic is under construction, about 24,000 square metres and around 70 rooms, with the opening now given as 2027 on Lanserhof's own site. The first St. Regis Residences in Spain are going up, 46 homes by Marcio Kogan from about 2.8 to 9.25 million euros, with phase one due in 2027 and phase two in 2029, and the long term Montes de Casares plan allows for up to 797 more homes over the years. What you can buy today, with prices from our listings at the time of writing (October 2026): The St. Regis Residences from about 2.9 million, Amenabar Cortesín, 84 two and three bedroom homes launched in April 2026 from about 575,000, Lake Essence plots to build your own villa from about 708,000, Marea from about 1.57 million, and just outside the gates Bon Air Terrazas de Cortesín from about 599,000 and Skye Casares Golf from about 489,000. Resale inside the resort is villas only: we have eight, three to six bedrooms, between about 3.8 and 8.7 million, on our Casares property page, with every project on our Casares and Manilva new developments page. The course keeps the highest Google rating on the coast at 4.8, and a green fee is 385 to 460 euros, compared with every other course in our golf courses guide. One thing to be clear about: the St. Regis Marbella announced on 20 October 2026 at Las Dunas is a different project on the beach in Marbella East, with no prices yet, in our St. Regis Marbella post. Lanserhof first targeted 2026 and its website now says 2027. Works started in October 2024. It will be the German group’s first clinic in Spain, with about 70 rooms, and it is a medical resort rather than a hotel spa, so it will run on programmes of a week or more rather than day visits.
How much does it cost to play golf at Finca Cortesín?
385 to 460 euros for 18 holes in 2026 depending on the season, the second most expensive green fee on the coast after Valderrama. The course hosted the Volvo World Match Play in 2009, 2011 and 2012 and the Solheim Cup in 2023, and has the highest Google rating of any course between Sotogrande and Marbella, 4.8 from 286 reviews.
Is Finca Cortesín the same as the St. Regis Marbella?
No. The St. Regis Residences at Finca Cortesín are branded homes inside the golf resort in Casares, selling now with prices and a delivery date, and there is no St. Regis hotel attached. The St. Regis Marbella is a separate hotel and residences project at Las Dunas in Las Chapas, Marbella East, announced in October 2026 with no prices yet and the hotel targeted for 2031.
