Finca Cortesín, the luxury resort in Casares best known for its hotel and championship golf course, is in the middle of its biggest expansion since it opened. Spain’s first Lanserhof longevity clinic is under construction, the first St. Regis Residences in Spain are going up, several new residential projects are selling from €575,000, and a long-term plan called Montes de Casares allows for up to 797 more homes. Together they are worth well over half a billion euros, and they will change Finca Cortesín from a hotel with a golf course into a full residential resort.
If you have driven up the Casares road lately and wondered what all the cranes are, this is it. And if you are thinking of buying there, we have most of these projects on our books.
Finca Cortesín in 30 seconds
- A 215-hectare estate in Casares, about 1.5 km from the sea, between Estepona and Sotogrande.
- A five-star hotel in Andalusian hacienda style, owned by the developer Single Home.
- An 18-hole golf course by Cabell B. Robinson that hosted the Volvo World Match Play in 2009, 2011 and 2012 and the Solheim Cup in 2023, the first time that event was played in Spain.
- A Nicklaus golf academy, beach club and a low-density residential area.
It has always been one of the quietest addresses on the coast. That is exactly what the new projects are selling.

Lanserhof: medical wellness comes to Casares

Lanserhof is a German group known in Europe for its medical health resorts, with locations on Lake Tegernsee, in Lans in Austria and at The Arts Club in London. Finca Cortesín will host its first clinic in Spain and southern Europe.
- A new building of about 24,000 m² with around 70 rooms.
- Preventive medicine, longevity programmes and high-end medical services.
- An investment of more than €100 million, with partners AltamarCAM and Inbest GPF.
- Works started in October 2024. The first target was to open in 2026. Lanserhof’s own website now says 2027.
Longevity is clearly the theme of the moment on this coast. At the other end, in Marbella, the old Incosol site is being turned into the Oakmond longevity resort with Goldman Sachs financing. Two projects like these within 40 minutes of each other tell you where the money thinks the coast is going.
The St. Regis Residences: a first for Spain

This is the one people in the sector talk about. Developer Caledonian partnered with Marriott International to build the first standalone St. Regis Residences in Europe, and the first ever in Spain.
- 46 homes, designed by the Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan (Studio MK27), with gardens by Isabel Duprat.
- Two, three and four bedrooms, plus ground floors, penthouses and lower penthouses, from about 270 to 590 m² including terraces.
- Private pools on ground floors and penthouses, underfloor heating and cooled ceilings, and a St. Regis butler service.
- A 1,250 m² wellness centre with spa, gym, yoga and Pilates studios, cinema, wine cellar, library and an indoor heated pool of almost 90 metres.
- Phase 1 (26 homes) is planned for 2027 and phase 2 (20 homes) for 2029.
- Prices today: €2.8 million to €9.25 million. See The St. Regis Residences on Santina Homes.
Amenabar Cortesín: 84 homes in the resort

In April 2026 the Basque developer Amenabar, known for projects like Jardín de La Moraleja in Madrid, launched 84 homes at Finca Cortesín:
- Two and three bedrooms.
- Ground floors with gardens of up to 157 m², and penthouses with terraces and solariums of up to 245 m².
- Two saltwater pools, spa with sauna, gym, gardens and 24-hour controlled access.
- Option to add private pools.
- Prices from €575,000. See Amenabar Cortesín on Santina Homes.
For buyers, this is interesting because it brings a much more accessible product into the resort, a few hundred metres from the St. Regis homes.
Montes de Casares: the long game
The biggest project is also the slowest. Single Home is preparing Sector UR-14 Montes de Casares, about 532,000 m² next to the current resort.
- The planning documents allow up to 797 homes (160 detached and 637 in apartment buildings) and 106,000 m² of buildable area.
- Single Home’s director general, Vicente Rubio, has said the final number will probably be lower, to keep the low density Finca Cortesín is known for. The idea is “a kind of branded resort”.
- The regional government has granted the environmental authorisation, and the land subdivision project is in progress.
- Investment of more than €100 million for land and urbanisation, and about €600 million including building the homes.
- The developers aimed to start urbanisation during 2026 and the first buildings at the end of the year. As of late September 2026 we have not seen any public announcement that works have started, so treat that date as slipping.
What it means if you are thinking of buying here
I sell in Marbella every day, and I always tell clients the same thing: the best time to understand an area is before everyone else does. Finca Cortesín is at that point.
- It is becoming a full community. Clinic, branded residences, new homes, golf, beach club and a hotel means services all year, not only in summer.
- There is now a price for almost every budget. Inside the resort, from €575,000 at Amenabar Cortesín to €9.25 million at the St. Regis. Just outside, Skye Casares Golf starts at €489,000.
- Prices will follow the brands. When St. Regis sells at these levels, it lifts the reference for everything around it, including resale in the resort and nearby in Casares.
- Quiet has a value. Low density, 1.5 km from the sea and far from the busy A-7 is exactly what many of our buyers ask for.
- Check the timelines. Several dates have already moved. If you buy off-plan, look carefully at delivery dates and bank guarantees, which we explain in why buying off-plan in Spain is safer than it feels. We go through all of this with you before you sign anything.
